Last week I had the honor of speaking on Esther 1 & 2 at the Moody Bible Institute’s annual Founder’s Week.
I have been profoundly changed by my study of Esther these past several months. I was also blessed to write this month’s edition of Today in the Word on this incredible book. It’s not too late to join that journey!
In the coming months, I’ll share more of what God has been doing in my life through His Word. But for now, I pray that you too will be both encouraged and challenged by the King we see in this story…
I really am enjoying the study in the book of Esther. The study for me is different than I have read before. It does mention, the usual the Providence of God, the courage of Esther etc. But it does deeper I think. I especially enjoy the reflections at the end of the lessons.
One thing I have missed from the previous publications, the prayer requests for the faculty and events at moody. This was a great way to remain updated and engaged as an outsider of Moody. Also I believe oh the difference it makes to have as many believers as possible invite our great God into what we seek to do as the Holy Spirit leads. God bless you. And thanks be to God for the beautiful gift of Writing and teaching his word with which he has gifted you.
Thank you for your comment, Jessy. I’m so glad that your are enjoying the Today in the Word study. I will pass on your feedback about the prayer requests for faculty and staff. I agree that prayer makes such a difference.
Hi Kelli,
I am writing from a long way away, in Australia.
I am a little on the slow side, but I have just completed your study of “Esther” in ‘Today in the Word’. I’m writing to say thank you. I have read and enjoyed TITW for a couple of years now, but your study was particularly helpful. It made the story and its significances very real for me. It’s amazing that a biblical story from so long ago can have so many lessons and so much relevance for our lives still today.
Thanks for what you have provided here.
Thank you, Ian, for reading and for taking the time to write. I’m so glad to hear how God used the story of Esther in your life. Praise Him!
